4. Tempted for forty days - Do we understand one of Satan’s simple tactics; the use of gradual, repetitive blows over time to effectively defeat his adversaries? Do we look to Jesus, our greatest example of strength? Do we ask God continually to sustain us in the valley, to pick us up along the way, to help us cross the finish line? Can we maintain hope knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us? Do we glorify the Father among the seemingly endless storms of life?
5. Tempted by the Devil - Do we truly understand how real Satan is and how much he wants to steal, kill and destroy? Do we give him an “open door policy” into our lives by the way we think, speak and act? Are we blocking the protection and blessings of God? Do we use the “sword of the Spirit” (the Word of God) as a weapon to fend off the attacks of our enemy? Do we trust that Jesus sympathizes, offers an escape and grants mercy, grace and forgiveness when we are tempted? Do we believe that God forever reigns on the throne?
